KLISC Officially Recognized as the Research4Life Country Connector for Kenya.

The Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) has been officially recognized as the Research4Life Country Connector for Kenya, a designation formally conferred through a partnership agreement signed during the Research4Life General Partners Meeting held in Oxford, United Kingdom.

The agreement was signed on behalf of KLISC by Prof. Arnold Mwanzu, Chairman of KLISC. Signing on behalf of Research4Life were Ms. Lisa McLeod, Chair of the Research4Life Executive Council (World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO), and Ms. Kimberly Parker of the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Penninah Musangi, Treasurer of KLISC, witnessed the signing.

This recognition positions KLISC as the official national liaison for Research4Life in Kenya. In this role, the Consortium will lead country-level coordination, outreach, and capacity building, promoting wider awareness and use of Research4Life’s invaluable resources across Kenyan academic and research institutions.

KLISC’s delegation actively participated in strategic discussions at the Oxford meeting, reaffirming the Consortium’s commitment in advancing access to vital research resources

“This partnership is a landmark achievement for KLISC and a significant step forward for Kenya’s academic and research ecosystem,” stated Prof. Mwanzu. “It will enable us to expand support to researchers, institutions, and learners across the country.”

KLISC now looks forward to deepening collaboration with Research4Life, expanding awareness, and facilitating greater access to quality research resources and opprtunities.
