The Kenya Open Education and Knowledge Equity (KOEKE) Hub, led by Dr. Stanislaus Agava and hosted by the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC), successfully held its first in-person workshop at Lemaiyian Suites, Naivasha, on 31st November 2025.
The workshop brought together 31 doctoral students from across Kenya for a full day of interactive sessions focused on open education, research collaboration, and scholarly publishing. Participants engaged with facilitators from GO-GN, including an international presenter, in exploring key themes such as AI in scientific writing, publishing from PhD research, and leveraging open educational resources (OER) for academic success.
This marks a key milestone in the six-month KOEKE pilot, which aims to strengthen open education research and practice in Kenya and East Africa while fostering global collaboration through the GO-GN network.
