Induction of KLISC New Members – February 6, 2026

The Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) successfully held an Induction of New Members and Refresher Training Workshop on Friday, 6th February 2026, at the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) – Maktaba Kuu, Upper Hill, Nairobi.

The one-day event brought together over 85 participants drawn from member institutions across the country. The workshop aimed to induct newly admitted members into the consortium while also providing refresher training to existing members on maximising the use of subscribed electronic information resources.

Participants were taken through a series of practical sessions focusing on effective discovery, access, and utilisation of electronic databases available through KLISC subscriptions. The training also highlighted best practices in promoting e-resources within institutions, usage analytics, and strategies for enhancing research and learning outcomes.

The induction session introduced new members to KLISC’s mandate, governance structure, and the benefits of consortium membership, including cost-effective access to high-quality scholarly content and capacity-building opportunities.
