On Friday, August 25th, 2023, the Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) hosted the ORCID TRAINER-OF-TRAINERS WORKSHOP at the Nairobi Safari Club Hotel. This marked the inception of the project, designed to foster greater ORCID adoption within their member institutions. Attended by 21 university librarians or their representatives, this event aimed to equip participants with the skills to act as ORCID ambassadors and engage researchers.
The workshop effectively fulfilled its objective of preparing librarians to guide researchers into the ORCID platform. Librarians shared innovative approaches to facilitating the creation of ORCID accounts for scholars in their respective universities.
As the project progresses, the subsequent training phase will involve engaging heads of research across universities.
