KLISC Induction Training for New Members, 2023

The Access and Information Literacy (AIL) Committee of KLISC held an induction training for the 2023
new members on 26 th January 2023 at Kenyatta University. The training also served as a refresher for
existing members. The training was opened by Mr. Stanislaus Agava, Vice Chairperson of KLISC, on
behalf of Ms. Janegrace Kinyanjui, the Chairperson. He outlined the history of KLISC, its objectives,
governance as well as the activities undertaken by KLISC. Dr. George Gitau, the Chief University Librarian
at Kenyatta University, gave welcome remarks on behalf of the host institution. A total of thirty-six
members participated in the training, which they termed as an eye-opener to the immense resources
KLISC has subscribed for on their behalf. This also gave an opportunity to members who had challenges
with access to e-resources, registration, and navigation on the KLISC dashboard, as well as monitoring
and evaluating the usage of the e-resources to be addressed practically.
