Chuka University is a public university in Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya. The university is situated approximately 186 km from Nairobi along the Nairobi-Meru highway, in a rural setting on the eastern slopes of Mt. Kenya at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level.

The establishment of Chuka University was foretold way back in 1951 by a famous philanthropist and seer by the name Jerusha Kanyua. She prophesied that an academic mountain shall sprout at Ndagani. She advised the youth to take a pen-like spear and a book like a shield.
