As part of its efforts to enhance access and visibility of research output through the promotion of online journal publishing in Kenya, the Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) in collaboration with the Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) conducted a workshop to educate researchers and librarians about the Open Journal System (OJS). Researchers and librarians from; Embu University, Muranga University, Karatina University, Kirinyaga University, Chuka University, and Tharaka University College attended the workshop at Embu University. Open Journal Systems (OJS) is an open-source solution to managing and publishing scholarly journals online.
By using Open Journal Systems (OJS), Kenyan universities and research centers would be able to host their own institutional journals, which could be indexed on Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ, giving them more visibility.
